Antioxidants

An antioxidant is a molecule capable of stopping oxidation (anti - oxidant) and "mopping up" free radicals. In the context of human biology antioxidants can be broadly classified into two categories; endogenous (made within or made by the body such as glutathione and super oxide dismutase) or they can be exogenous (not made within, obtained from diet such as vitamins C and E).
